Luckily, we live quite near to a Christmas tree farm, so we headed there a couple of days before his family arrived and picked us out a nice (poky!) little tree. Who said convertibles weren't made to transport tree? :D Fortunately for us, the weather wasn't too bad that day and the snow waited until that night to come!
They arrived late late Wednesday night, about 3 AM our time, so we had a slow start to the day, but eventually stuffed ourselves with Shakshuka before delving into the presents. Anyone who knows us can imagine that we got a lot of board games for Christmas. In fact, I think we even broke last year's record for the number of games gotten. Naturally, the majority of the next few days were spent playing those games so we could all try them out before they went to their respective houses.
We did manage to fit in a few other activities though, including the local archeology museum, a walk at Warren Dunes State Park beach, walks around our neighborhood, exploring and showing them around campus, and the last morning they were there we even got in a photo shoot for some nice updated family photos. It was a short but great Thanksgiving/Christmas!
