6th Anniversary!

For our 6th anniversary, we had grand plans.  We were going to go camping near Niagara Falls and to see the last of the two great lakes!  Yeah...that didn't happen.  Problem was when you say you're going camping you don't think you need to make actually plans (which you do).  Other problem was we felt like we'd been driving a lot this summer, and we're not big driving people, so we were done driving.  Plus rain was  in the forecast. So yeah, camping was out.  So, instead, we borrowed an idea from our friends we met at Icarus and decided to play a game for each year of marriage!

We started off the weekend with an outdoor movie, and then the next day we had breakfast at Nikki's while playing Love Letter for our dating/engagement time (lots of texts and notes during that time!).  Then, we moved on to Ticket to Ride Europe, when we lived in York, UK and traveled around Europe.  Next was Power Grid on the Korea map for when we lived in Korea.  Then it was time for a trip to Costco where we got their delicious guacamole (aka lunch).  Then it was Castles of Mad King Ludwig for the year we came back to the states and set up our first house, then Forbidden Island, cause we were living on an island, Commissioned for the year Jon finished being a pastor and we moved to Michigan for seminary and my student missions job, and finally Star Wars Imperial Assault: Hoth for our first winter in Michigan.  It was a great day of gaming!  I felt like we got a lot in, still managed a late start, breakfast out, trip to costco, made dinner, and took Gromit for a walk.  I don't know how our friends did 18 in a day...crazy!

The next day was our actual anniversary, so we went out to eat at one of the nicest restaurants (that's also veggie friendly) around and enjoyed lots of fantastic food while in our fancy clothes.

The most low-key anniversary we've ever had, but still very fun and memorable.  Insane that we're in our 7th year of marriage now! :D
