Sunshine & Shopping!

My parents came down for the weekend!  It was a fast but enjoyable weekend and all their driving was certainly appreciated.  They came Saturday afternoon church with reubens waiting for them, and after devouring those, we were off to enjoy the beautiful weather we had that day! Sunshine, little breeze, and fairly warm (for us), it was convertible weather!  We headed down to Ft. Casey and explored the old fort and lighthouse, and were impressed with how tame the local deer were.  We also managed to spot a bald eagle quite well.  After walking around there for a while, we took a leisurely scenic drive back to Oak Harbor and walked along the boardwalk and around the marina before coming back to get ready for the play.  Our local theater was performing "Ain't Misbehavin'", and we were interested to see it.  While it wasn't THAT bad, it wasn't what we were expecting, and I think they had been a bit overly ambitious.  Also I think it was a bit misleading as we all thought there would be a least some talking, but it was more like a concert than a play.  But, we'd had enough.  So we got some Mexican munchies, followed by some tasty fro-yo (I still can't believe that was my parent's first time for fro-yo!) and then had a rousing time with Ticket to Ride.  Mom, Dad, and I made some serious mistakes, either from being overly ambitious with our routes, or not quite seeing the board quite clearly enough, lol, but in any case, Jon won by a landslide.  A rematch is definitely in order. The next morning we headed out to La Conner (after spotting some seals on the bridge) for a day of shopping and good eating!  I think we all ended up walking away with some or another, and it's just a town with lots of cute shops, so it was fun to explore it more with my parents.  Till next time at the Tulip Festival guys!
