Memorial Day Weekend

Memoril Day weekend was fun with family and friends!  We specifically headed south because our friends Jared and Damie from WWU who had moved to Nebraska were going to be in Portland for the day, and we hadn't seen them in about 4 years.  So we made a weekend out of it.  We drove down Friday and met up with my parents there in Salem. 

Saturday we went to church, then had a nice leisurely stroll at an awesome new park- Minto Brown Island Park.  We came home and Jon and I whopped them in 2 games of Bible Pictionary :) (better luck next time guys) and then taught them a new one- Rummikub, which was a hit.  Sunday we went to Portland to see Jared and Damie.  We met up at the zoo and got to meet their two cute kiddos for the first time, Cliff and Wallie.  After some quality zoo time, it was high time for food! Mexican it was.  Then coffee, ice cream (Salt and Straw!), park, and more coffee!  Despite all the crazy traffic and parking, it was a good day in Ptown!


Monday we met some more friends from Walla Walla, Johnny and Heather, who we had gotten reacquainted with at camp the previous summer.  It was good to see them again and hear how they're getting ready for their move to Andrews for seminary.  A bit of shopping at REI and there was the weekend!
