Family Time!

April brought family!  A few weeks after our Arizona trip, Andy and Kenneth came up for a quick overnight trip.  They were mainly coming to see CADA's benefit concert- the Seattle Men's Chorus performing songs from Wicked (and other Stephen Schwartz songs).  The concert was lots of fun.  We played some games afterwards, and the next morning had a late and delicious brunch- huevos rancheros and blueberry french toast.  Yum.    We went for a quick hike at Ebey's Landing and then they were back to Portland.  Thanks for coming guys!

The weekend after that, my parents came up to see my run my (first) half marathon!  I'd been training for about three months (with Gromit) and was super excited.  Having only run one race before, a 10K about 3 years ago, I wasn't sure what my time would be, but I was cautitiously hoping for around a 10 minute mile average, so about 2 hours and 10 minutes.  I did it in 1:56! Woohoo! It was amazing! It was cool to see my parents and Jon at the beginning and end, plus two places in the middle!  And now that I've found out how much I like it, I'm signing up for another half marathon in September and a full marathon in April! Eek!  Anyways, after the race, (and a shower!), we headed to brunch and then to the tulip festival.  A good weekend! Thanks for the support guys!

The Monday after the race was also my first day after my temporary work ended, so to celebrate (?) we went to Port Townsend.  Did a bit of hiking and exploring, had some delicious pastries and coffee at our favorite PT spot, and got some Thai food to enjoy on the ferry ride home.  We live in such a cool place!
