Julie's Visit!

Julie came to visit!  She had some time during her spring break (which is crazy, since we're almost done with the school year here), so she came up Thursday evening after spending a day in Chicago.  On Friday, we treated her to a belated birthday outing and headed to Grand Rapids for the first time, where we visited a pretty cool sculpture park.  They also had butterfly gardens, caterpillar rooms, cactus rooms, Japanese gardens, and an indoor sculpture exhibit.  It was a pretty cool place, and a beautiful day!  We also had to stop at a massive game store in Grand Rapids before heading home :)

That evening, we had our SM dedication for outgoing student missionaries, which was nice.  Most of them were able to come, and we even skyped with a current SM in Palau who prayed for them and passed the torch to them so to speak.

Sabbath we headed to PMC to hear Pr. Dwight speak, and then had a lovely afternoon mostly spent in the yard hanging out, throwing the ball for Gromit, playing croquet, trying to convince Gromit not to be scared of croquet, and just generally soaking up the sun (with sunscreen of course!) before heading to Niles to walk along the river and chase some unsuspecting ducks.

Sunday we spent the afternoon browsing the beachside shops of St. Joe, eating delicious burgers and ice cream (even Gromit got some doggy ice cream and a new toy!) and then lying out on the beach for a while.

All in all, we played 13 games in about 3 days and enjoyed some wonderful weather!  Thanks for spending the last bit of your spring break with us Julie; it was a fun visit!
