Last weekend was full of fun and festivity! It was the weekend for the Lights of Christmas! A yearly tradition at Warm Beach Camp in Stanwood, they start putting up Christmas lights around Labor Day, and by the time they're done there's over a million! It was pretty impressive! We got there Saturday night and checked into our cheery rooms and then headed to our dinner theater. A very delicious 5 course dinner while we watched a live radio show of It's a Wonderful Life. Really well done! That night, instead of enjoying the lights or playing games, we went to the ER in Everett...fun! :) Kenneth had cut his hand the previous night, and it was long overdue for a check up (despite Andy's suggestions to get it checked earlier) . His hand was beginning to look like it belonged to the Pillsbury dough boy it was getting so puffy and swollen. So what should have been a quick in and out thing, ended up taking 6 hours (10:30pm-4:30am) for them to exray it, give a tetnus shot, clean and dress it. Yeesh. So.... we skipped the chocolate factory tour, slept till 11am, and went straight to lunch, The Old Spaghetti Factory, which exceeded all our expectations :)

After lunch, we headed into Seattle for an early birthday present for dad at the Museum of Flight. I think we all loved it and were impressed, but especially dad. We saw and went in the newest Boeing 787, went in Airforce One and the Concord, checked out the space exhibits (including a module that had gone into space numerous times!), saw planes from WWII, and then went into the main hanger with all kinds of cool planes. After the museum, we headed back to the Lights of Christmas. We wandered the gift shops, ate deliciously warm and sugary donuts with coffee and cider, got my face painted, went through a light maze, saw a talking Christmas tree, listened to Victorian carolers, and spent a large amount of time in the petting barn with the goats, llams, sheep, and alpacas. :) After we'd seen all there was to see, we did get in a game of Traders of Genoa before it was time for us to head back to Oak Harbor and the rest of them to go to bed there before leaving the next morning. Great way to start the holiday season!
