Jon turned 30! For his 30th, we and 7 others went to a local Escape Room which just opened. We had to sweet talk them into letting that many of us in their room, since they'd never done that many before, but they added some more puzzles and we were good to go. Before doing the escaping, we went to Fire and Ice with some for dinner. It's this awesome place just around the corner from the escape room with delicious thin crust fire baked pizza, with flavors like avocado and cilantro lime. They also have ice cream made with liquid nitrogen, and even non dairy options, which is awesome.
So we did the escape room, and made it out with only a couple of hints! Definitely recommend those, super fun. Then it was back to our place and more people joined us for lots of board gaming! We had a couple of games going at a time, Ticket to Ride for some and Roborally for the birthday boy and others. We ended with some Dixit for all.
The next day we got up not so early given the late last night and drove just an hour or so down the road to the "hill" where there was some snowboarding to be had. We figured we didn't need much time or mountain since it had sadly been in so long. I was worried I'd forgotten how, but it actually came back, and I was able to make use of the small crowd and small 'hill' to even improve my skills a bit. We had a couple hours of fun on the snow and then came back and tried the new game I got Jon, Viticulture, and wrapped up an awesome birthday weekend.
